GPFI Holdings Celebrates 25th Anniversary
August 25, 2025
On Wednesday, 20th August, 2025, the city of Lagos glittered a little brighter. At the heart of Ikoyi, inside the lavishly decorated The Antonia Event Hall, movers and shakers of the Built Industry gathered under warm lights, smooth music, and an air of celebration.
The occasion? Global Property and Facilities International Limited (GPFI Holding) had just turned 25!
From its humble beginnings in the year 2000, sparked by the vision of bold pioneers, GPFI has grown into a name synonymous with Excellence in facility management, property services, building automation, and infrastructure solutions.
Today, its influence stretches across 18 African countries, shaping skylines and raising standards in how spaces are managed.
But this wasn’t just another corporate dinner. It was a night of storytelling, laughter, reflection, and well-deserved applause.
By 4:30 pm the red carpet was already alive. Distinguished guests—partners, clients, staff (both past and present), and industry stakeholders—stepped into the Nigerian red-carpet atmosphere, while subtle centerpieces carried the story of a company that has not just survived but thrived over two and a half decades.
The evening opened with tributes to the GPFI dream. The company’s chairman, Mr. Adeyinka Adedoyin, alongside founding fathers like Arc. Dipo Adebo and Engr. Ibikunle Ogunbayo, shared heartfelt reflections about the early days—the risks, the sleepless nights, and the determination to chart a new course for facility management in Nigeria.
Then came the man at the helm, Mr. MKO Balogun, Managing Director of GPFI Holdings. His keynote speech, titled “GPFI: The Past, The Present, and The Future”, drew a standing ovation. He painted a vivid picture of the company’s journey—its storms and triumphs—and cast a bold vision of expanding influence not only across Africa but also into the global stage. He spoke of contracts from industry partners that boosted the company’s position as the leader in the industry, and called for more capacity-building for professionals.
Cameras clicked away as friends reunited and posed for commemorative photo sessions, while cocktails flowed gently to ease the evening into motion.
Inside, The Antonia sparkled in golden lights. Awards were presented to founding fathers, long-standing staff members, and outstanding alumni who had contributed their brilliance to the company’s enviable rise. The applause was thunderous; the smiles, priceless.
As plates clinked and conversations flowed, the Nigerian Police Band filled the air with soulful tunes. The cutting of the anniversary cake was met with cheers, camera flashes, and laughter—a symbolic reminder of shared victories and sweet memories.
The dinner was more than a toast to the past. It was a declaration of intent—a reminder that GPFI’s story is still being written. As glasses were raised and goodbyes were said, one thing was certain: the next 25 years promise to be even more inspiring.
For Partners, Clients, and Staff who have walked this journey, the evening was a chance to look back with pride and forward with hope.
And for the facility management industry, it was yet another reminder that GPFI Holdings is not just in the business of managing properties—it is in the business of shaping legacies.
