HUMAN RESOURCES GENERAL INDUCTION
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of an induction procedure is to assist a new employee in the “settling down ” process.
Starting a new job can be a stressful experience, if the welcoming organisation did not plan to provide a proper welcoming for the new employee. It’s a critical path of our employee onboarding and experience and therefore taking seriously by GPFI.
Our induction plan provides new employees all the necessary information, details of the company, her people, her culture, the tools and resources needed to help employee settle quickly.

WELCOMING & DOCUMENTATION
Welcoming of the new hire into the organisation:
The HR department prepares to formally greet and give the new hire a warm welcome; introduce new employee to the company/site
Information:

Documentation Process:
As a new hire you are required to complete the following employment forms – pension registration, banking details, HMO, ID card request form, Resumption to duty certificate, the guarantor’s forms and inclusion on HR Workplace software.
The Job:
Each employee is given a job description with letter or contract of employment, the JD is in 5 parts
1.Details of the employee, location, title
2.Detailed description of job role
3.Details of qualification & requirement for the role
4.Reporting level
5.Key Performance Indicators to be used for performance appraisal
Detailed discussion on 1 above will take place with the relevant departmental or business unit heads
COMPANY RULES & PROCEDURES
The Employee Handbook:
The company has developed a detailed employee handbook for in line with relevant labour laws and guiding principles of the company, soft copy is available on our website for your perusal. The Handbook contains the following: company’s rules, policies and procedures.
The main terms and conditions of employment:

Security:
In line with each client requirements, you will be properly briefed by your HOD or BUH about the security protocol for your workplace.
Employee Benefits & Facilities:
Each employee of GPFI is entitled to certain general benefit such as medical insurance, group life insurance, emergency support, and there may be specific client additional benefits related to the work you do with the client, this will be detailed as may be necessary. Details of company benefits are contained in the Employee Handbook.
Cooperative Society:
The company has a registered Cooperative Multipurpose Society recognized by Lagos State Government.
OTHER BENEFITS & WORKPLACE LAYOUT
Mentorship:
The company has a mentorship and career development program designed to help employees fulfil their potentials and at the same time help them resolve personal and official issues. Each employee selects a mentor to participate in the program, which is monitored by the HR department.
Training & Development:
The company’s training & development program for employees covers 3 parts – self development, on-the job training & external training programs – each employee is expected to undertake minimum of 20hrs of training per year. Work Place Tools & Equipment
Every employee will be provided with required tools and equipment to be able to discharge his or her duties and also be held accountable for same.
These tools and equipment can be in form of work tools, work space & furniture, systems (laptop, printers, tabs); special equipment/tools depending on the role of the employee.
It is important to note that while the company will strive to provide these tools and equipment it’s the responsibility of employees to take care of them as the affected employee will be held liable for any damage to any tools or equipment.
