HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT QUALITY GENERAL INDUCTION

  • Introduction

    The HSEQ department involves the audit and implementation of HSE standards and procedures. It also includes quality compliance check in operation across the business.  Finally, it involves the audit to ensure that all sites conform to every statutory and regulatory laws in the state and country.

    Determined Processes

    Conduct HSE and compliance audits.

    Conduct fire drill

    Statutory compliance audits

    Conduct HSE awareness training.

    Conduct environmental audit/ compliance.

    Follow up with sewage test across all sites.

    Conduct first aid training across sites.

     

    Conduct HSE and compliance audits

    HSE audits are conducted at least 2 times per year on all location of the company. A checklist is created and each line items are check and the compliance level is recorded. The result of the audit is shared with the site and the HSE manager follows up to ensure that it is closed out.

     

    Conduct fire drill and statutory compliance audits

    A program for fire drill in each location should be recorded and the time of the year is noted. The HSE manager ensures that the drills are carried out as planned and he will support each sites to ensure a successful drill is carried out.

     

    Statutory compliance audits

    All the statutory and regulatory rules as governing our activities and job on site are audited at least once a year to always ensure 100 % compliance. This is because this contains risk to the company. For instance, a building without sewage certification may risk paying several millions as fine or risk being locked up by the state environmental protection agency.

     

    Conduct HSE awareness training

    HSE awareness training must be done for all categories of staff on site. this is to minimize or eliminate accidents on sites. The staff must be trained and certificate of attending or proficiency would be the minimum to be given to such staff.

     

    Conduct environmental audit/ compliance

    Environmental audits must be done on each location at least once a year to ensure that activities on sites are not having adverse effect on the environment. For instance, a generator exhaust must extend outwards to a considerable height of at least 2m to the sky and it must not be close to another establishment or resident.
